The End of the World

I don't have any kind of mp3 to attach to this one, which bums me out because this is supposed to be equal parts music and bitching about my life, life in general, and society. I would have one, but it's a long story and it really pisses me off even thinking of it, and I'm in Ohio for the week, with dial up internet and it's a tremendous pain in the ass doing anything on this connection. On top of that my laptop adaptor fried again. Apple: you make great products with the strong exception of the power cord, in fact someone should SUE you assholes for this bullshit. I could have been killed by your defective product. Computer power adaptors are not supposed to spark into flames for chrissakes! You make some of the most advanced products on the market today and you can't make a fucking safe, working power cord? What is wrong with this picture? This is the third one I've gone through in a year, and if you're going to make a SHIT product, at least make it affordable. 75 dollars for a power adaptor? Give me a break... BULLSHIT.

So yeah no song, but I'm bummed out, so just picture me sitting here, listening to 'The End of the World' by Skeeter Davis. Don't they know it's the end of the world? Cause yooou don't loove me anymooore.

I can't actually watch this on this connection, but maybe this will help:

Go there. Watch that. Don't mess around on this worthless blog. These come a dime a dozen.
I need to sleep on this.
Angst be gone!

To the Girl From 7th Grade

If any old school chums are reading this, I can only wonder if they have any more clue about this than I do. I have this vague memory, possibly a dream of some sort of a 'new girl' in the class. She was this gal who wore kind of dated, 1960's skirts, and when it was her turn to bring in music for music class she brought in the Beach Boys, and she used dated slang and everybody thought she was totally weird, including me. At the time I was an obnoxious weird kid, who wanted desperately to conform, to be the late 90's definition of popular. Bleached highlights, baggy jeans, What Would Jesus Do bracelet (Midwest late 90's definition of popular) So despite listening religiously to Pink Floyd and The Beatles in the privacy of my bedroom, I'm sure I went right along with the making fun of this poor girl behind her back. Jesus, I feel like an asshole now. I'm not even sure I know where I was going with this now, except to somehow prove that I am indeed a conformist prick. I should have become good friends with the 60's girl. She could have been my little girlfriend, instead of all the time I wasted going after conceited fake blondes and girls who were way out of my league. Man was I a chump. Well this blog entry is dedicated to you strange 60's girl, I hope you never conformed to this piss stain society. I hope you're somewhere out there right now, maybe cruising Sunset Strip in your Volkswagen Beetle, rockin' out to the Beach Boys or the Ventures. I salute you!

Hi Boys & Girls

To give my facebook friends a break and to share my interests and razor sharp wit with the rest of the world I have decided to get into the blog thing. Yeah, I know, everyone has one, so even introducing myself to this thing feels like an extreme waste of time, but alas here we go anyway:

I'm in West Virginia for reasons that are too long and depressing to get into. I have no friends here, so I feel a bit like a teenage kid, uprooted from his familiar surroundings and thrown into a world of ugly camo jackets, evangelicals, mullets and thrift store Wolf t-shirts. Think, Footloose or Pump Up the Volume, except that I'm 24 years old, not in school and far too creepy to be socially accepted. Sure, we can say I wouldn't want to be socially accepted here anyway, but after a while I can't help but feel like I've been launched into a small space station, miles above the earth, with only the internet as my connection to society.
My mom tries. Introducing me to people who are 40-50 years older than me, but somehow that just isn't cutting it. WV isn't all bad. If you like the woods, which I do, then it can be great. It's a beautiful state, and if I knew some interesting people, who shared the same interests and who were vaguely the same age as me, than it'd be a paradise. Unfortunately the odds of meeting such people in Calhoun County are slim to none. It's just me and my brother, who's pretty cool, but he isn't much one for conversation... Pretty good listener though.

Well before this blog turns into the bitch about West Virginia blog (though I guess it already has), I have a song I want to share from Animal Collective. It's a new song. A few days old maybe? I don't know. I guess I'm not that cutting edge. It's called Graze, and though it starts out pretty slow and ambient, it turns into a really groovy little flute jam, which I love. It's quite whimsical.

No one's gonna read this fuckin' blog.
